Your files are never uploaded

The core promise of CSV to ICS Converter: every file you convert or view — CSV or ICS — is processed entirely by JavaScript running in your own browser. Files are never transmitted to, stored on, or readable by our servers, because no server-side processing exists. Once the page has loaded, the tools work even with your network disconnected.

What we do collect

Standard usage analytics, to understand which pages and tools are useful, and the advertising service described below:

• Google Analytics 4— page views, approximate geography, device type. GA4 never reports visitors' IP addresses back to us.
• Microsoft Clarity— aggregated interaction data (scrolling, clicks) to spot usability problems. Clarity never sees the contents of your files, which exist only in your browser's memory.
• Google AdSense — advertising cookies, described in the next section. The script does not receive the files you convert.

These services set cookies. We collect no accounts, no emails, no names, and we never see the contents or filenames of anything you convert.

Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense. Google's advertising cookies let Google and its partners serve ads based on visits to this site and to other websites.

Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites.

You can opt out of personalized ads at https://adssettings.google.com. To opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising, visit https://www.aboutads.info. How Google uses data from sites that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

File conversion still runs entirely in your browser. Advertising scripts and the analytics scripts above do not read the contents of the files you convert. Those files are not uploaded, and they are not sent to Google or to any other vendor.

Your data rights (EU/UK and California)

There are no accounts on this site, no login, and no database. Nothing you type into a converter is stored by us, and there is no user record to look up. So a data request here is mostly a request about the services named above — Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, and Google AdSense — plus the payment processor, if you bought the $7 Pro unlock.

Where the data actually sits:

• On your device— saved column-mapping templates are kept in your browser's local storage and are never sent anywhere. Your Pro license key is stored the same way, but it is not device-only: activating it sends the key to this site, and an activated key is re-checked at most once every 14 days to catch refunds and revocations. The key has your order reference and purchase email encoded inside it, so those travel with it; a key issued by Lemon Squeezy is checked against Lemon Squeezy's licensing API rather than here. Clearing site data for csvtoics.app removes both from this device.
• With Google and Microsoft— the cookies and identifiers GA4, Google AdSense, and Clarity set. How long they are kept is decided by those services' own policies, not by us: Google Privacy Policy and Microsoft Privacy Statement.
• With the payment processor, if you bought Pro— your email address and the record of the payment, held by Stripe or Lemon Squeezy (your receipt says which). Checkout happens on their pages, not ours, so card details never reach this site. That email address is also where the license key and receipt go. On the Stripe path the completed-order notification hands it to this site's server for as long as it takes to mint the key and send that mail — there is no database, so nothing is filed away here — and the mail itself goes out either as the processor's own receipt or through Resend, the delivery service this site is wired to use. • Nowhere, for your files — the CSV, Excel, JSON and ICS files you convert never leave your browser, so there is nothing about them to access, export or delete.

If you are in the EU or the UK (GDPR). You have the right to ask for access to personal data held about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict how it is processed, to object to processing, and to receive it in a portable form. You can also complain to your national data protection authority — in the UK that is the ICO.

What that means in practice here. For analytics and for AdSense cookies there is usually nothing for us to hand over, correct or delete, because those services do not send us a name, an email or an account — blocking the analytics and advertising scripts stops the collection at the source, which is faster than asking anyone to erase it afterwards. For a purchase, write with the order reference from your receipt and we will tell you what exists and remove what we can; the transaction record itself stays with the payment processor, which keeps payment records for its own accounting and tax obligations. Your license key is derived from your order and email address rather than looked up in a database — that is how it can be validated without us keeping a record of you.

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA).You have the right to know what personal information is collected and where it goes, to have it deleted, to have it corrected, to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing", and not to be treated differently for exercising any of those.

On selling and sharing, plainly: this site does not sell personal information for money. It does use Google AdSense. AdSense uses cookies so Google and its partners can serve ads based on visits to this site and to other sites, and California law can treat that as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. The analytics identifiers GA4 and Clarity set can fall under the same broad definition. You can opt out of personalized Google ads at https://adssettings.google.com and opt out of participating third-party vendors at https://www.aboutads.info. Blocking the AdSense, GA4, and Clarity scripts stops that collection in the browser, and every converter keeps working. Nothing on the converters is gated on those scripts. The Pro unlock is checked against this site's own endpoint (which, for a Lemon Squeezy key, asks Lemon Squeezy). Advertising and analytics scripts do not decide whether that unlock works.

Making a request. Email support@csvtoics.app — the address on the contact page — and say which right you are exercising: access, correction, deletion, or opt-out. If it concerns a purchase, include the order reference from your receipt; without it there is nothing to look up, because there is no account to search. For the same reason we can only match you against that order reference and email address, and will not ask you for identity documents. One person reads that inbox, so expect a reply in days rather than hours — no fixed turnaround is promised here, because it would not be true. This section sets out what happens on this site and the rights the law gives you; it is a disclosure, not a claim of certification.

Pro payments and who you pay

Pro payments are processed by Stripe through its Managed Payments service. At checkout, Stripe (via Link) is the seller of record — the checkout page shows "Sold through Link", and a bank statement may show a descriptor starting with LINK.COM*. Applicable VAT or sales tax is calculated and remitted by Stripe. The price shown on this site is the full amount you pay, tax included. The 30-day refund described in the Terms of Useis unchanged; a refund request may also be handled with Stripe's help.

Your choices

Blocking third-party scripts (with a content blocker or browser setting) does not break the converters — they are self-contained. Questions: support@csvtoics.app.
